World-class automotive artist Ron Gibbs to present ‘Panel Jam’ at Toronto Motorama Show
Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo is in its 6th year now, and it’s celebrating with an epic line-up for its Panel Jam! The show takes place at Toronto’s International Centre on March 13th, 14th and 15th. It will feature a unique presentation by acclaimed artists Ron Gibbs, Danno Drouin and Rollie Guertin.
The trio will be pinstriping three distinct panels on Saturday and Sunday, creating a brand-new piece of art in real time.
“For the past 20 years, I’ve done demonstrations in airbrush and pinstriping, like this, at the SEMA Show for complease like House of Kolor and Sherwin-Williams,” says Gibbs. “I’ve known Danno and Rollie for years; they’re friends of mine and are wel-known as two fo the best pinstripers in Canada.”
Gibbs will also be producing a painting of the show’s celebrity guest, Chip Foose. The painting will finished off at the show by Gibbs, and auctioned for charity live on the Sunday.
“That’s a pretty big deal for me,” says Gibbs, “It will feature Chip and some of his most iconic cars.”
Gibbs is a veteran of the airbrush and custom painting world, with more than 45 years’ experience. His custom work has won awards across North America at some of the most prestigious customer car, truck and motorcycle shows. Gibbs’ work has graced the covers of countless magazines, and he’s worked with companies including Ford, Chrysler, IWATA and more.
In 2018 Gibbs, also known in the industry as ‘CdnRatFink’, received the prestigious ‘Painter Award’ at SEMA. He was also chosen by Asset Iwata as part of the ‘Air Affair Group’ in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“That was a real honour for me as I was the only Canadian in the group,” says Gibbs. “It’s amazing to have my work displayed in such a world-renowned gallery.”
